There
are many supplications that can be recited when visiting a graveyard which are
related to us through the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He used to recite them himself
and had taught them to his companions too. A few of these supplications are as follows:-
اَلسَّلَامُ
عَلَیْکُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ اِنَّا اِنْشَآءَ اللّٰہُ بِکُمْ
لَلَاحِقُوْنَ
‘May peace be upon you, oh people of
the house of the believer! We too (by Allah's will) are coming soon to meet
you’
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَ عَلیٰ اَھْلِ
الدِّیَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنََ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ وَبَرْحَمُ
اللّٰہُ الْمُسْتَقْدِمِیْنَ مِنَّاوَالْمُسْتَاخِرِیْنَ
وَ اِنَّآ اِنْشَآءَ اللّٰہُ بِکُمْ
لَلَاحِقُرْنَ
‘O believers
and those in the graves! May peace be upon you and may Allah have mercy upon
you all. We too (by Allah's will) are coming soon to meet you’
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْکُمْ یَا اَھْلَ الْقَبُوْرِ
یَغْفِرُ اللّٰہُ لَنَا وَ لَکُمْ اَنْتُمْ سَلَفُنَا وَ نَحْنُ بِالْاَثَرِ
‘O
people in the graves! May peace be upon you and may Allah forgive you and, you
have gone before us, we will soon come after you’
KHWAJA SHAMSUDDIN AZEEMI
Mehrāj means to enter the world of the unseen. When a believer attains Mehrāj through prayer, Angels appear in front of him. He travels through the Heavens, and through the blessings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) he comes to know his Lord.
