It was in those turbulent times when Holy Prophet had no place to
live, his loving wife and caring uncle had died that God summoned Holy Prophet
in His Exalted Presence.
This episode has been reported in the Holy Quran in these words: -
"By the Star when it goes down. Your Companion has neither gone
astray nor misled. He does not say anything at his own. It is a command
inspired to him. He was taught by the one mighty in power, endued with wisdom; for
he appeared in stately form while he was in the highest part of the horizon:
Then he approached and came closer. And was at a distance of but two bows
length or even closer: So did God convey the inspiration to His servant what He
wanted to convey. Heart (of the Prophet) in no way falsified that which he saw'.
Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? For indeed he saw Him at
a second descent.
Next morning when the Holy Prophet related the whole story of his
Ascension and Elevation, the visionless people of Makka ridiculed him. And,
asked many questions jestingly about the shape, size and whereabouts of his
seen things on his
way to the heavens. They questioned him interrogatively
about his statement of seeing many distant things like the Sacred Mosque of
Jerusalem, which the Holy Prophet had never seen before in his life. God
enabled him to reply to all the queries of the non-believers of Makka
accurately.
One non-believer, in order to mock the Holy Prophet asked Abu Bakkar
if anybody could travel from Makka to Jerusalem and back in the same hour of
the night. Abu Bakkar, who was not having any knowledge of the Prophet's
Ascension towards Heavens by then, replied in negative. That man said.
"Then how is it fair for your Prophet to say that he traveled from Ka'aba
to the Sacred Mosque in Jerusalem and from earth to heavens and back in the
same hour of the previous night."
Abu Bakkar (RA) replied whatsoever Mohammad would say I believed him
because he always spoke the truth and I testify what he had said.

By the Time, verily man is in great loss,
except those who strive to act upon the teachings
of Holy Prophet and the Quran.
